A family-owned specialty retailer that needed a real e-commerce business, not a brochure site
The Farhat family operates Mattress Fit and Furniture from a showroom on Beach Blvd in Jacksonville, carrying the largest family-owned Tempur display in Florida alongside Sealy, Stearns and Foster, Beautyrest, Kingsdown, Casper, Puffy, Nectar, DreamCloud, Sherwood, Resident Home, Palliser, Flexsteel, Best HF, Infinity Massage Chairs, and 15+ additional brands.
When Digital1010 came in, the business had no real digital presence and no infrastructure to manage a vendor catalog of this size. Each manufacturer delivered product data differently. Some via FTP, some via PDF data sheets, some by email attachment. Customers had no way to browse the actual inventory online, financing options were limited to in-store, and there was no system for capturing leads or tracking sales attribution.
We built the entire stack from scratch in 2020, then ran it for them. Five years later, the same build is still the production system.
What we shipped
Custom WordPress + WooCommerce build
A new site architected around the realities of a multi-vendor mattress retailer. Sitemap, wireframes, and style sheet delivered late 2020. The build went live with a structure that could absorb new vendors without requiring redesign each time a new brand was added. New brands like Casper (added August 2024) and Puffy (added late 2023) plug into the existing system without re-platforming.
Catalog migration · 2,500+ products with full variations
The largest part of the build. Each mattress, recliner, and massage chair carries multiple variations: size (Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Cal King), firmness (Firm, Medium, Plush), and comfort tier (Adapt, ProAdapt, LuxeAdapt, ProBreeze, LuxeBreeze for Tempur alone). When the math is done, that produces over 2,500 distinct purchasable products on the site, each with full pricing, imagery, technical specs, and category structure.
We built the migration pipeline to ingest from each vendor's preferred format. FTP feed for some, raw spreadsheet exports from Tempur Sealy, BestHF, Resident Home and Nectar, Palliser, and Flexsteel. Where vendors didn't have feeds available (Palliser, for example), we worked their Customer Care team directly to get the product list, then handled image and pricing entry manually.
Hello Automations CRM integration
The site is integrated with Hello Automations for lead management, customer communication, and review and SMS workflows. The Hello Automations location for Mattress Fit is still active in 2026, handling messaging credits, lead capture from web forms, and customer follow-up automation. This is what powers the family's ability to follow up on every web inquiry without managing the SMS and email infrastructure themselves.
Authorize.Net and Acima at checkout
Authorize.Net for credit card transactions plus Acima for lease-to-own consumer financing through the WooCommerce checkout. Acima was added in early 2024 specifically because financing was the conversion lever the family needed to compete with national chains on big-ticket Tempur-Pedic and Stearns and Foster sets. The Acima WooCommerce integration was deployed and tested in March 2024.
Multi-year marketing engine (2020 to mid-2024)
We ran the marketing program for the family across:
- Google Search Ads, competing for "mattress store Jacksonville," "Tempur-Pedic Jacksonville," "massage chairs Jacksonville," and brand-specific terms. Visibility was strong enough that competitor research caught us showing up. November 2023, a competitor forwarded a screenshot noting "I was searching for massage chairs for Jacksonville this came up."
- Facebook and Meta Ads, paired with Google Search to handle promotional pushes and brand awareness.
- Promotional campaign management for Black Friday, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Labor Day, Tempur-Pedic seasonal promos, Resident Home and DreamCloud flash sales. We wrote the copy, built the creative, scheduled the campaigns, and updated landing pages in sync with each manufacturer's promotional calendar.
- Domain expansion. When QR codes started appearing in physical marketing, we set up
mattressfitandfurniture.comas the primary outreach domain alongside the originalmymattressfit.comso customers could find the site from print and showroom materials.
The marketing engagement paused mid-2024 over a billing dispute. The site, CRM, and infrastructure work continued without interruption.
What's still running today
- 2,500+ products live with full variations across mattresses, adjustable bases, foundations, recliners, sectionals, and massage chairs.
- 15+ manufacturer brands integrated via mixed-source data ingestion: FTP, spreadsheet, manual where required.
- 5+ years of continuous platform operation. The original 2020 build is still the production system in 2026, scaling with new vendor additions and never required a re-platform.
- Active Hello Automations CRM still running messaging, lead capture, and customer communication as of April 2026.
- Three active domains routing to one store:
mattressfitandfurniture.com,mymattressfit.com,mattressreclinerfit123.com. - SiteGround managed hosting, with WordPress core updates, plugin updates, security lockouts, and site monitoring handled by Digital1010 so the family doesn't deal with server uptime.
- Family-managed content layer. Olivia, Sandra, and Salem each have appropriate WordPress permissions for product additions, blog posts, and promotional updates.
Why this case matters
This is the case study that proves Digital1010 can take a family-owned specialty retailer with messy multi-vendor product data and build them a working e-commerce business that runs for half a decade and counting. Not a brochure site. Not a templated Shopify store. A real WooCommerce build handling thousands of variations, a real CRM, real payment and financing integrations, and a marketing engine that drove enough Google presence that competitors noticed.
For any specialty retailer or family-owned business considering a real e-commerce build instead of a template, this is the proof point.
