01 · Getting started

Getting started.

How engagements begin, what to expect, and how we work together.

9 questions

How do I get started with Digital1010?

Three ways in. Run the AEO Visibility Scan on your domain (free, forty-eight seconds, PDF in your inbox). Generate a proposal in our assist-mode tool. Or email Michael directly. Whichever path you pick, you'll get a real reply within 24 hours on weekdays, not a routed inbound from an SDR.

What is included in a strategy session?

Our strategy sessions provide deep analysis of your business goals, digital presence, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities. You'll receive a clear plan, recommended site structure, and tactical roadmap tailored to your objectives.

What's your typical response time for communication?

We respond to emails and messages within 24 hours during business days, often much sooner. For urgent issues affecting live websites, we provide same-day response and resolution.

How do you handle project delays or unexpected issues?

We maintain open communication about any potential delays and provide updated timelines immediately. Most delays relate to client feedback cycles or content delivery, which we help manage proactively.

Do you offer rush or expedited project timelines?

Yes, we can accommodate expedited timelines for select projects based on current workload and project complexity. Rush projects may require additional investment due to resource allocation needs.

What services does Digital1010 offer?

Four tracks. Consulting when you know the problem. Platforms (Orbit, Otto, Mission Control) when you need the infrastructure. Web & Hosting when the site itself is the work. Growth when it compounds over twelve to twenty-four months. See the Services page for the shape of each.

Do you work with businesses outside Florida?

Yes! While we're based in Jacksonville, FL, we serve clients across the U.S. and internationally. Most of our services, including CRM setup, SEO, and hosting, are managed remotely.

What makes Digital1010 different from other agencies?

Three things. First, we built the tools ourselves (Orbit, Otto, Mission Control) and they run in production today. Second, no junior handoff: the person who scopes the work delivers the work. Third, we sell outcomes on fixed scope, or priced-against-opportunity retainers, not billable hours. The agency-standard hourly model is how mediocre work gets protected.

How do you decide if we're a fit?

We turn down about half the consulting inbound because the real fix is internal, not agency-side. If we can't point at a specific outcome we can deliver, we'll tell you on the discovery call and point you to someone better suited. If we can, you'll hear us describe it back to you with a scope, timeline, and price attached.
INDEX · 03 · PRICING & CONTRACTS
02 · Pricing & contracts

Pricing & contracts.

Investment, contract terms, and ownership.

11 questions

How does your pricing work?

We sell outcomes, not hours. Consulting is fixed price on fixed scope, sized to what the engagement needs to deliver, four to twelve weeks. Growth is priced against the opportunity, six-month minimum, re-scoped at month six. Hosting is per-site on a tiered SLA. Platforms publish SaaS pricing at launch. Every number is written down on day one.

How much does a website cost?

Cost scales with complexity. A mid-complexity multi-page site is one number; commerce, multi-location, or legacy migration work is another. Hosting plus Site Care runs on a tiered SLA. We write the number on the estimate, not in the fine print. Email with what you're building and we'll come back with scope, timeline, and price inside 48 hours.

Do you require contracts?

We use contracts to outline scope, deliverables, and terms clearly, but we don't believe in long-term lock-ins. Most ongoing services are billed monthly with standard 30-day cancellation terms.

Do I own my website after it's built?

Yes. Once final payment is complete, you own your website, content, and all creative assets. We believe in transparency and building long-term partnerships, not lock-in contracts.

Will I own all the design files once the project is done?

Yes. You receive all final files (vector logos, editable documents, brand guidelines) so your team or future vendors can apply your brand consistently.

What happens to my data if I cancel services?

You retain full ownership of all your data, content, and website files. We provide data exports and assistance with transitions to ensure you have everything needed to continue independently or with another provider.

How many revisions are included in website projects?

We include reasonable revisions throughout the design and development process. Major scope changes may require additional investment, but we'll always discuss any potential costs upfront before proceeding.

How do you handle changes or additions during a project?

Small changes and refinements are part of our normal process. Significant scope additions are discussed upfront with clear timelines and investment requirements before proceeding.

Do you publish pricing?

Not as fixed packages. Consulting is fixed-price on fixed scope, sized to the engagement shape and the deliverable. Growth is priced against the opportunity, six-month minimum, re-scoped at month six. Hosting is per-site on a tiered SLA. Platforms (Orbit) will publish SaaS pricing at beta exit. Ask for a number, you get a number.

How is a Growth Retainer priced?

Against the opportunity, not hours. Every engagement is sized to what we think the work is worth and what the work is worth to you. We publish the number on day one and re-scope at month six. No strategy-hours line item, no retainer drift.

Do you have a minimum commitment?

Growth retainers are six months minimum. That's how long it takes for infrastructure work to start compounding. Consulting is fixed-scope with no commitment beyond the engagement. Hosting is month-to-month after the first twelve months.
INDEX · 04 · WEBSITES & PLATFORMS
03 · Websites & platforms

Websites & platforms.

Builds, migrations, hosting, maintenance, and accessibility.

9 questions

What platform do you build websites on?

We build on the platform that fits the work. Next.js, often headless, for performance-critical and AI-primitive builds. WordPress for content velocity and cost efficiency. Sitefinity and .NET for enterprise compliance environments (the Aussie Grill build lives here). Shopify Hydrogen for commerce. Stack per problem, not preferred vendor.

How long does it take to build a website?

Custom website builds run eight to ten weeks at Digital1010, plus a week on location for the photo shoot. Closer to ten if we're writing your copy from scratch, longer if feedback cycles need room. We hold milestone check-ins throughout so timing never surprises you.

What happens if I need help after my site goes live?

Our support continues after launch through managed hosting plans that include regular updates, bug fixes, performance monitoring, and email support. We're always available when you need assistance.

Do you offer ongoing website maintenance and support?

Yes, we provide fully managed hosting and maintenance, including updates, backups, security patches, uptime monitoring, and performance optimization. This keeps your site running smoothly and securely.

What ongoing support is available after project completion?

Beyond our managed hosting and maintenance plans, we offer additional support for content updates, feature additions, troubleshooting, and strategic consulting as your business grows and evolves.

Do you offer ADA-compliant websites?

Yes, we build all websites following accessibility best practices. We also provide enhanced ADA compliance solutions including accessibility tools and manual audits for industries requiring strict compliance.

How do you protect my business data and website security?

We implement SSL certificates, regular backups, security monitoring, malware scanning, and software updates. All client data is handled according to strict privacy standards, and we never share information with third parties.

Can I update or change my marketing plan later?

Absolutely. All our services are modular and scalable. Whether you want to add SEO, automation, analytics, or additional features later, we'll grow with your business at your pace.

Do you offer white label or agency partnerships?

Yes, we partner with select agencies and consultants on white-labeled services, including website builds, SEO, automation, and hosting. This helps you scale your offerings without additional staff overhead.
INDEX · 05 · SEO & LOCAL SEARCH
04 · SEO & local search

SEO & local search.

Ranking, local SEO, Google Business Profile, and multi-location strategy.

10 questions

Can you help us rank higher in Google search results?

Yes. Our SEO services combine technical optimization, keyword research, content creation, and local SEO tactics to improve rankings and drive qualified traffic. We track everything so you can see measurable ROI.

Do you offer SEO audits or consultations?

We provide comprehensive SEO audits analyzing your current rankings, technical issues, content gaps, and competitive landscape. You'll receive actionable recommendations and a growth roadmap.

What's included in local SEO services?

Our local SEO includes Google Business Profile optimization, local keyword research, citation building and management, review generation and response, local content creation, and detailed reporting on local search performance.

How long does it take to see results from local SEO optimization?

Most businesses see initial improvements in local search visibility within 2-4 weeks of optimizing their Google Business Profile. Significant ranking improvements typically occur within 3-6 months of consistent local SEO efforts, including review generation and citation building.

How do you improve local search rankings?

We improve local rankings through Google Business Profile optimization, consistent local citations, strategic local content, customer review generation, local keyword targeting, and technical SEO improvements focused on local search signals.

Do you work with multi-location businesses?

Yes, we specialize in multi-location SEO including individual Google Business Profiles for each location, location-specific content strategies, centralized review management, and consolidated reporting across all locations.

Do I need a separate Google Business Profile for each location?

Yes, each physical business location requires its own Google Business Profile. However, ensure each location has a unique address and phone number. Service areas can overlap, but physical addresses must be distinct.

Can I optimize for "near me" searches if I'm a service-based business without a physical storefront?

Yes. Service-based businesses can optimize by defining clear service areas in their Google Business Profile, creating location-specific content, and building citations in areas they serve. Focus on "service area business" optimization rather than storefront optimization.

How many reviews do I need to rank well in local searches?

While there's no magic number, businesses with 15+ Google reviews typically perform better than those with fewer reviews. However, review quality, recency, and response rate matter more than total quantity. Focus on generating 2-3 new reviews monthly rather than trying to get many reviews quickly.
INDEX · 06 · AEO (ANSWER ENGINE OPTIMIZATION)
05 · AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)

AEO (Answer Engine Optimization).

Optimizing for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.

6 questions

What is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of optimizing content for AI-powered search tools like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity. Unlike traditional SEO, which targets search engine rankings, AEO focuses on becoming the source AI tools cite when answering questions.

How is AEO different from traditional SEO?

Traditional SEO optimizes for search engines, showing links to websites. AEO optimizes for AI systems that synthesize answers from multiple sources. Key differences include: SEO targets page-level keywords, while AEO builds entity-level authority; SEO relies on backlinks, while AEO requires cross-platform entity consistency; SEO optimizes individual pages, while AEO structures content for machine parsing confidence.

How do I know if my business needs AEO strategy?

Your business needs AEO if: AI Overviews appear for your commercial searches, your industry involves educational or question-based searches, you're investing significantly in SEO already, or you have competitors who might adapt first. Test by searching your primary service in Google, if AI Overviews appear, you're competing in AEO space.

Is it too late to start optimizing for AEO?

No, it's not too late. While AI search adoption is skyrocketing, most businesses haven't yet adapted their optimization strategies. AI tools are still establishing which sources to trust, making this an opportune time for early-mover advantages. However, the competitive window is narrowing as more businesses recognize this transition.

What is the AEO Visibility Scan?

Can you work within my existing brand guidelines?

Absolutely. We can work within established brand guidelines, style guides, and corporate standards. We'll adapt our design and content approach to maintain consistency with your existing brand identity.

We build brand guidelines and style sheets that define colors, fonts, imagery, and usage rules. This ensures every touchpoint, from your website to print materials, reflects the same brand voice and style.

Do you provide photography or just design?

We do both. For projects like Wekiva Island and Aussie Grill, we directed creative photography to complement brand visuals. Strong visuals are often part of a successful design system.

How long does a branding project usually take?

How do you report on ongoing work?

Weekly checklists and real-time updates as things change, so you're never surprised by what we're working on. Monthly reports layer on the numbers: what moved, what didn't, what we're doing next. Quarterly strategy reviews go deep on what's working, what isn't, and what to shift. Dashboards exist; they're not the report.
INDEX · 10 · RETAIL & CPG
09 · Retail & CPG

Retail & CPG.

Brand-specific strategy for consumer goods and multi-retail distribution.

4 questions

Should CPG brands focus more on digital or traditional marketing?

Modern CPG marketing requires integrated digital and traditional approaches. Digital excels at targeting and measurement, while traditional channels (in-store displays, sampling) remain crucial for trial and impulse purchases. The optimal mix depends on your target demographic and product category.

What's the most effective marketing channel for CPG brands?

The most effective channels vary by target audience and product category. However, a combination of performance marketing (Google Ads, social media advertising), content marketing, and influencer partnerships typically delivers the best ROI for most CPG brands.

How long does it take to see results from retail and CPG marketing strategies?

Digital campaigns typically show initial results within 2-4 weeks, while brand awareness and market share improvements develop over 3-6 months. Content marketing and SEO efforts build momentum over 6-12 months for sustainable growth.

How important is Amazon marketing for CPG brands?

Amazon is critical for most CPG brands, representing 40%+ of online retail sales. A strong Amazon presence includes optimized product listings, targeted advertising campaigns, and strategic brand store development. However, avoid over-dependence by maintaining diverse retail partnerships.
INDEX · 11 · WORKING WITH DIGITAL1010
10 · Working with Digital1010

Working with Digital1010.

Revisions, communication, team, training, and partnerships.

6 questions

Who will I work with during my project?

You'll have a dedicated project manager as your main point of contact, plus direct access to our design, development, and strategy teams as needed. We believe in clear communication and personal relationships.

What if I'm not satisfied with the work?

We work closely with clients throughout every project to ensure satisfaction. If you're not happy with deliverables, we'll revise the work until it meets your expectations. Our goal is your complete satisfaction with the final result.

Do you use junior staff or offshore production?

No. The person who scopes the work delivers the work. Five full-time senior operators, plus a flex bench of specialists (photography, motion graphics, copy, paid social) who rotate in for specific phases and rotate out. Never a substitute for the core team. No account-manager pass-through, no offshore pod. You get the name of the person doing the work on day one.

Do you use AI in your delivery?

Yes, and it's the point. We built Orbit, Otto, and Mission Control ourselves, running in production today. We use Claude, ChatGPT, and specialist models daily across research, monitoring, content QA, and reporting. AI gives five senior humans the leverage of twenty-five. It's not replacing people. It's multiplying them.

How many new clients do you take per quarter?

Two to four new Growth clients per quarter. Not because we can't handle more. Because attention is the product. Stack too many clients and every one starts getting leftovers. Consulting engagements have no cap.

What industries do you work with?

Seven, deep: healthcare groups, facilities management, law firms, managed service providers, hospitality, retail and CPG, and travel and destination brands. We turn down engagements outside these categories. Starting from zero is a tax on the client we refuse to charge.
